When you read the word 'Egypt" the first thing that comes to your mind is the desert and the Pyramids. You will be surprised by how many more hidden gems this great country holds.
We visited Cairo for a very special occasion, an amazing wedding of a beautiful couple!
We spent 2-3 days there, we visited the amazing Pyramids, the desert and met some very interesting creatures.
We stayed at an amazing hotel, Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah by the Nile river with amazing views to the city and enjoyed Egyptian delicacies there.
We also visited the Egyptian museum to learn more about their great history.
After that we hoped on to a plane and headed east, to Marsa Alam.
The main reason we visited Marsa Alam , was to get the scuba diving license. The location is well known for the corals , the reefs and the underwater life, We even witnessed dolphins swimming in their natural environment!
We stayed at Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort, a really nice resort located by the Red Sea.
On the beach of the resort was located the Scuba Diving School, called : BLUE OCEAN DIVING for PADI/DDA diving center on the Abu Dabbab Bay ideal for beginners where we were trained and passed the exams to receive our license!
What an amazing experience!
Aswan was the las stop of our beautiful journey. We stayed at a beautiful hotel by the Nile river with amazing views and hidden in the palm trees.
Sofitel Legend Old Cataract, a signature hotel by Accor hotels and an amazing SPA.
Aswan is really well known destination, but you need to know the right time to visit it, because it can get really hot during summer and the heat is unbearable.
Due to the heat , we were not able to visit LUXOR, the world's greatest open air museum and a must-visit if you ever travel to Egypt.
We visited instead the temple of Philae and Isis. We went there during the night , by boat and the scenery was so mysterious and we witnessed the sound and light show there. Truly unique experience. Really vivid. There are some videos on line to get an idea.
Then we flew back to Cairo for a night and head home!
Off to plan the next one!
