Among the best Mexico has to offer.
This bohemian , eco friendly destination is an oasis of palm trees, unique designer hotels , bikes and loads of parties!
Every instagrammer's paradise in one place! White sand, sun, warm crystal clear water ,coconuts and amazing food styling.
I am a hotelier, so I always focus on hotels when i visit a new destination. It's my cup of tea. Hotels and Yoga Studios. Tulum has it all! Almost each hotel in Tulum has a Yoga shala that makes it an even dreamier destination.
Totally recommend staying or just visiting the below hotels.
My top favorite and one of the places we stayed at , was NOMADE- the hotel is mind blowing- so relaxed atmosphere, eco friendly, the rooms were amazing and the Yoga Shala so serene.
I liked most the breakfast at CASA MALCA though, to be honest!
The best yoga shala was in Azulik, You don't have to be staying at any of these hotels, to drop in to one of the yoga classes. Just send them an email, or visit the front desk of the hotel and they will guide you. At azulik the cost was approximately 16$ per class.
Best beach area, food and service , is totally at NOMADE & BE TULUM. The food, the music, the scenery and the atmosphere was really amazing!
The food in Tulum was out of this world! So many vegetarian dishes, coconut milk, coconut water, seeds, fish , shrimps and of course AVOCADOS! We got daily huge doses of GUACAMOLE! Our top favorites are:
BE TULUM (brunch & lunch)
NOMADE TULUM (brunch & lunch)
KIN -TOH @ Azulik
THE REAL COCONUT (amazing spot for brunch)
DEL CIELO - try on the amazing bowls.
Tulum during weekends is totally packed, from people mostly from the US that come to enjoy a quick getaway. During the week is more quiet. Usually in January they throw a lot of parties in Tulum and the last years has become a party destination.
A well known festival is called DAY ZERO FESTIVAL and it takes place once every 4 years.
More info here: http://2019.dayzerofestival.com/
Check out PAPAYA PLAYA PROJECT ,they usually throw nice parties during the weekend, or you can visit GITANO , ARCA or PASITO TUN TUN for a glass or two of margaritas!
If you are into SALSA, there is a place called LA ZEBRA, that teaches you how to salsa every Saturday , with an instructor showing you how to move. After class, there is live music where you can practice what you have learned! We really enjoyed that part!
We spent the last afternoon of our stay in Tulum, at YAAN WELLNESS. It is considered to be one of the top places to visit during your stay in Tulum. I was expecting more to be honest, but the massage was really good. The MAYA SPA at Azulik is considered to be really good as well.
Must visit attractions are the MAYA RUINS ,that are located really near the hotel zone in Tulum. Just grab a taxi or a bike , buy your ticket at the entrance and enjoy the view!
Then is the amazing CENOTES , there are many! Search on the web , see which one you like and just enjoy the amazing scenery!
Cenote dos ojos
Another must-see is the world famous CHI CHEN ITZA pyramid , it's not located in TULUM, but you should get on a tour or hire a car to visit this masterpiece. On your way to chi chen itza, you may also visit a really big Cenotes, that is usually crowded, but truly beautiful and it is called CENOTE IK KIL.
If you ever visit Mexico, Tulum is the place to be. It is a little bit overpriced but totally worth it!
HASTA LA VISTA AMIGOS!
