A 3-night stay in Santorini is more than enough for anyone to take a zip of the good life and enjoy this amazing island!
Santorini is the place to be and listed no. 1 destination in many travel blogs and magazines because of its unique architecture and its natural beauty.
White houses, on top of white houses and amazing views!
It is such a small island , but there are plenty things to do and see here. We definitely recommend renting a car, finding a taxi here could be quite hard!
How to get there:
Reasons to visit Santorini :
1. The Views:
Breathtaking, you feel like flying and you can admire the blue of the Aegean from every angle of the island
A good spot for a panoramic view could be " Profitis Ilias" where you can see everything.
2. The Famous Sunset:
The spot is Oia.
Oia is definitely the most famous and one of the most photographed places in the world ! The sunset and the cute streets of the area can magnetize you. Oia is approximately a 15min drive from Fira , you should definitely pay a visit! You will be thrilled!
Tip: At Oia there is a small old-school underground bookstore , it is called Atlantis bookstore , don't miss it!
Another thing , don't miss to get down on those 200 steps and take a photo at the one of the most instagrammable spots of Instagram, the steps will lead you to Ammoudi.
When you get down to the port, we suggest having lunch or dinner at "Sunset Ammoudi Taverna" , right on the water with amazing sea view and super fresh fish! Delicious!
It is an abandoned hill on the island , where the Venetians used to live , but it was destroyed some years ago , due to an earthquake.
We suggest going on a walk to Skaros, the views are amazing and you can admire the island of Santorini from another angle. It is approximately 1 hour aller-retour, Look for the hidden church at the back side of Skaros , it is absolutely stunning!.
Another good spot to enjoy the sunset and the view of Skaros is "Kapari Wine Restaurant" .
Vlychada , not that crowded , raw and a good choice for lunch : Psaraki
Perivolos, if you are looking for umbrellas and sunbeds , this is your place, really good choice for lunch would be Sea Side by Notos
Akrotiri , if you are looking for umbrellas and sunbeds , this is another good option, really good choice for lunch would be Akro
Columbos nice beach, not that crowded since there are no umbrellas or sunbeds , there is also a hidden cave there, it is a place to explore since there is also located an active volcano.
To enjoy the maximum the views, the beaches and the sunset we recommend getting on one of those Catamarans. They BBQ on the boat, they give you snorkeling equipment and you get to sail around the island getting the most out of it . You get to see the Red beach, the Black beach and you get really close to the volcano!
Places to stay :
We recommend the area of "Imerovigli". The views are amazing and so are the hotels. All small boutique hotels or you may rent a villa. All of them on the same well known architecture that will blow your mind.
We recommend staying at: Cocoon Suites
Νight Life :
Santorini is more laid back, not a lot of parties and clubs on the island. A good option could be Tango Bar
Oia has so many cute little shops, from Greek designers to anything really. You should avoid Thira, is much more touristic , but there are plenty of choices there to grab a quick bite like "souvlaki", pizza etc
